§ 904.

EXEMPTIONS

a.

All persons operating an ambulance or ambulances in City on the effective date of this ordinance shall be exempted from the requirements of Sections 902(a), 902(d) and 905 for a Certificate of Operation for a period of one year from the effective date of this ordinance. A Certificate shall be issued by the Director to any person who qualifies for exemption pursuant to this Section upon condition that compliance with all other sections of this Article otherwise exists.

b.

Any person operating an ambulance or ambulances in City on the effective date of this ordinance pursuant to a permit issued by the Director by authority of law existing immediately prior to that date shall be exempted from the requirements of Sections 903 and 905 for a period of one year, from the effective date of this ordinance, during which existing permits will continue to be valid unless suspended, revoked or terminated. Upon expiration of the permit, an operator shall otherwise comply with all provisions of this Article.

c.

Any person operating an ambulance or ambulances, or routine medical transport vehicle or vehicles in City on or after the effective date of this ordinance which does not involve the transporting of persons from a place of origin to a place of destination, both of which are solely within City, shall be exempted from the requirements of this Article.
